It is a Certification standard that has been developed to support events in managing their sustainability.
ISO 20121 relates to the design, implementation and continuous improvement of a management system for an event or group of events (ideally all events within an organisation). Claims of conformity will differ depending on the scope of the management system.
It covers a plethora of clauses including the Events Mission, Policy, Objectives, Leadership
Commitment. It follows the same high-level structure as ISO14001, 9001 and
45001 and can be integrated with these certifications.
